When & How to Use the Gratus Studio Footmuff?
Our footmuff is designed to keep your baby safe, warm, and cozy during the coldest months. With an approximate warmth level of 2.5–3.0 TOG, it’s perfect for chilly days and even cold winter weather — down to around -10°C, as long as your baby is dressed appropriately underneath.
Perfect For:

Recommended Temperature Use:
0°C to –5°C winter days (with normal indoor clothing under it)
Can be used down to:
–10°C, if the baby is dressed appropriately (base layer + mid layer)Safe for short indoor use (sofa, bed, etc.) with open sides / "wings" but only with supervision and regular temperature checks.
Safety Tips:
Always check your baby’s temperature by feeling the back of their neck or chest — they should feel warm, never sweaty or overheated.
When using indoors, never leave your baby unsupervised.
Adjust your baby’s clothing underneath depending on the outside temperature.

I’m Anja — a fashion and textile designer, and a soon-to-be mom.
When I started preparing for my baby, I wanted products that were safe, sustainable, and beautifully made — but I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for.
That’s why I created Gratus Studio. Each footmuff is handcrafted by me, using carefully selected, European-sourced fabrics to keep your baby warm, protected, and wrapped in timeless comfort.

What materials are the footmuffs made from?
Our footmuffs are handmade using only baby friendly fabrics. The inside is polyester wool (or so called teddy) — soft, warm, and hypoallergenic. The outer layer is 100% natural cotton, quilted for comfort and durability. No plastics or metals, just natural and baby-safe materials.
Will the footmuff fit my stroller?
Yes! Each footmuff is made to order in a universal size that fits the majority of stroller carrycots (the newborn stroller attachment, not the sporty seat).
The exact measurements are 72 cm in length and 35 cm in width, designed to provide a snug and secure fit for most standard carrycots.
We do, however, recommend measuring your carrycot before placing your order to ensure the best fit.
If your stroller requires a specific size, simply email us, and we’ll be happy to create a custom-made footmuff tailored to your exact measurements.
How do I wash the footmuff?
The footmuff is washable. We recommend gentle hand washing or a delicate machine cycle with a detergent. Lay flat to dry to preserve the wool and cotton fibers or put into a dryer and selec a gentle program - which will make the footmuff fuffy and soft.
What is your return policy?
Because each footmuff is made to order, we do not accept returns or refunds unless there is a fault with the product. Every piece is carefully checked before it leaves our studio, and we do our very best to ensure this never happens.
Can the footmuff be used outside of the stroller?
Absolutely! While designed to fit carrycots, the footmuff can also be used indoors — for naps, playtime on the floor, or simply keeping your baby warm and cozy on chilly days. Just be careful with your newborn not overheating, since the footmuff is very warm. You can check our safety suggestions.
At what temperatures can I use the footmuff?
The Gratus Studio footmuff is designed to keep your baby cozy and safe during cold fall / winter/ early spring days. With its soft interior, quilted padding, and double-layered wrap front, it offers warmth roughly equivalent to 2.5 - 3.0 TOG — perfect for temperatures between 0 and -5°C, but with a proper clothing it can be used safely for down to -10°C.
It’s ideal for winter walks, stroller naps, or chilly days outdoors.
When used indoors, always make sure your baby is supervised and check their temperature regularly to avoid overheating. We also recommend that with the inside use - you don't swaddle the baby into the footmuff, but keep it open and breathable for better temperature adjustment.
